DESIGN ELEMENTS AND HISTORY OF HSBC LOGO
The current HSBC logo was unveiled by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in 1983. It was designed by Henry Steiner, a famous Austrian graphic designer who also created such powerful brand identities as Standard Chartered Bank, Unilever, Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Regency and Dow Jones.
The logo was also featured in a 2000 edition of Design Week .
Shape and Colors of the Abarth Logo:
The HSBC logo consists of a hexagon symbol and highlights a uniform brand identity. The emblem, originating from the house flag of the bank, contains a white rectangle separated diagonally to produce a red hourglass figure.
The highly recognizable and clever design was influenced by the traditional Hong Kong company flags of the 19th century, and also by the nationality of Sir Thomas Sutherland, the founder of the bank.”
